What is the meaning of insurance?
What are the features of an insurance contract?
What are the types of insurance?
What is mean by double insurance?
What is mean by Re-insurance?
What are the advantages of insurance?

Risk and uncertainty are incidental to life and it is increasing day by day due to the increase in the fastness of life. People may suffer from accident, destruction of property from sea, fire, earthquakes and many other causes.

"Insurance is a social device providing financial compensation for the effects of misfortune, the payments being made from the accumulated contributions of all parties participating in the scheme."- D.S.HANSELL

INDIAN CONTRACT ACT (1872)

According to the above act the valid contract much posses

- offer and acceptance, capacity to contract, free consent of parties, lawful consideration and object, contracts not specifically declared void.

There are many types of insurance. Among them the important ones are
- Life insurance, Fire insurance and Marine insurance.

CONCEPT BEHIND DOUBLE INSURANCE

- If Mr.M insures his factory worth Rs. 3lakh with 5 insurers as- with A for Rs.70,000, with B for Rs.50,000, with C for Rs.80,000, with D for Rs.40,0000 and with E for Rs.1lakh, there occurs double insurance the aggregate of all these policies exceeds the total value of Mr.M's factory. If M insurers as- with A for Rs.50,000, with B for Rs.50,000, with C for Rs.50,000, with D for Rs.50,000 and with E for Rs.50,000 then there is no chance for double insurance.

For any reason if the original policy comes to an end, then the re-insurance policy also comes to an end. Thus the re-insurance policy is co-extensive with the original policy.

Insurance plays a main role on the large scale development of international trade. Protection against all types of sea-risks are covered by Marine insurance.

Problem Solving Skills

Problem solving skills

Now, Let us face it. Nothing is without difficulty; however we can’t just stand by and watch things untangle. Problem solving skills are highly essential for a person to lead a well-structured life. One of the best qualities of leaders and effective people of every area is the ability to evaluate and solve problems. Life is full of ups and downs and the capability to solve the problems that you face at your level is crucial to being paid more and promoted faster. Fortunately problem solving and decision making are learn able skills that you can master overtime through practice.
6 steps to deal with every problem

Define:

It is amusing how ample amount of time is wasted in solving problems. Why? Because the people involved don’t even have an idea about the problem in the first place. Hence, define the problem accurately. “What exactly is the problem?” See past the subjective view to get to the root of it and not what you want to see. Tabulate the facts, not just the obvious or general facts but the real ones.

Causes:

Once you have a clear-cut view of the problem concentrate on the major factors that caused the particular issue, meaning “How?” and “Why?” it happened. At times this step alone can lead you to a very obvious solution that you might’ve overlooked before. The more number of reasons you come up with the sooner the solution will be at hand.

Possibilities:

Once you have come up with the possible solutions, analyze the most relevant one to your current situation. Different solutions will prove effective at different situations. Solutions are a spontaneous act of mind. What is crucial at this point of time is your understanding of the term “relevance” meaning you must find a common thread between the problem and the possible solution that you have come up with

Decision:

Making a decision may not be the most  difficult action or an action that has bad consequences because in the long run, any decision is better than no decision at all. Usually about 85% of problems can be immediately solved, only the rest 15% needs time, extra research or the last resort -professional assistance.

Responsibility:

Assign people to carry out the decision. Now, the tricky part is deciding,
who is going to do what, when they are going to do it and to what standard.
Make sure you’ve got the responsible people’s co-ordinates right.
If it’s just you, the you are accountable to no one but yourself which gives you a profound responsibility.

Schedule:

Set up a measuring scale and reporting deadlines to determine whether or not the decision has been successful. A schedule is important part of gaining results because a solution without a  deadline is not a solution at all but merely a discussion.

By implementing the above ways one can improve their problem solving skills and it is the most essential skill of all because people with this ability are the highest paid and fasted promoted. Beyond the carrier point of view this particular skill might prove as a life saving asset to a person.
